UPCOMING: ARTIST PANEL Talk
Trading in Intimacy
21st Nov 2024, 19:00
At the mercy of a global art market cultivated by late stage capitalism, do emerging creatives really stand a chance? Who holds the power to create a viable future for artists, and what needs to change for true creativity to reclaim its societal value?
In a discussion moderated by arts writer Madeleine Pollard, artist Alexander Vinther-Burroughs, photographer Javier Alejandro Cerrada, artist and illustrator Marie Cloppenburg and writer, artist and astrologer Randon Rosenbohm will explore the plethora of ways in which creative industries and the current economic climate force individuals to sell themselves in attempts to sustain lifestyles that can facilitate creativity — and whether this is in fact possible at all.
The talk is free to attend and more information can be found on Eventbrite here.

Flores de Oaxaca
Michael José
22nd Sep 2024, 18:00
Photographer Michael José and Donda CPH founder Qasim Khan will host a collaborative pop-up exhibition celebrating the tastes, colours, people, arts and culture of Oaxaca through photography, food, music and mezcal from Madre Mezcal for one night only.
“In February 2023 my two friends and owners of Donda, Qasim and Kasper invited me along with them to Mexico, to document their trip seeking inspiration and learning more about the flavors of especially Oaxaca. Guided by local and Oaxacan natives, Rafa and Diego we couldn’t have been in better hands and I think that I speak for all of us by saying we were blown away by the beauty of this place.
From street food, local markets and fine dining experiences to artisanal crafts like weaving, ceramics and mezcal, we got to see it all and I personally can’t wait to go back sometime soon and dive deeper into this very special place.” - Michael José

+ one at the border is the first group exhibition curated and hosted by artist collective I would die for anything. Showcasing the work of 16 artists from around the world, the show embodies the spirit of interpersonal creative connection that has proved to be a catalyst for the founding of the Berlin art space and studio.
Presenting an architecturally choreographed blend of mediums — from sculpture, painting and drawing to video, photography, performance and text — + one at the border’s international landscape of artists offers a glimpse into the experiences and decisions that brought I would die for anything members Alexander Vinther-Burroughs, Gabriela Galeano Batres, Milly Burroughs and Oscar Juul-Sørensen to art, to Berlin and eventually to each other.
Curator-artist relationships represented in the exhibition span from as many as 24 years to a matter of months. Regardless of duration, each has seen the individuals of the collective left richer in perspective and creative understanding.

I WOULD DIE FOR ANYTHING
Presented by I would die for anything, Heart Runners is an exhibition of new works by Alexander Vinther-Burroughs that sees the artist revisiting core pillars of his practice anchored in more than a decade of investigation.
Applying a sculptural approach to both objects and oil paintings, Vinther-Burroughs centres the choreography between objects and the spaces they inhabit, while harnessing the language and legibility of more traditional mediums.
The collective has partnered with spirits brand Madre Mezcal for the opening of the exhibition.
